On Assignment: Watermark Capital

After I shot an assignment for Lodging Magazine, the subject for the cover was liking the work that we did, and invited us to shoot on-location portraits of the management team in his office.  He was hoping to get away from formal corporate headshots that are done against a seamless backdrop or muslin and move towards the more informal and approachable feel of environmental portraits. As I had been to the office once before, I knew of several spaces that could make for an awesome background and could be lit to be interesting yet unobtrusive.  Plus, I was looking forward to coming out of hibernation and using my new Speedotron Force Series of lights as opposed to the cumbersome head and pack set that has since been slowing us down and seems to get heavier the older I get. I had a great 2013 and this shoot was an awesome way to start the New Year!
